PUNCHED ICING TIN ORNAMENTS

These ornaments have a real homespun feel and are very simple to make. Pillsbury makes a sweet roll that is packaged like refrigerator biscuits. Each container has a small tub of icing which is capped off with one of the these aluminum disks. There is one of these pictured in the first photo of my “ornaments can be free” posting. To make these ornaments, I simply traced a shape onto the surface and used a finishing nail and a hammer to pierce the aluminum along the lines that I had drawn. To keep the country feel, I used simple kitchen twine hangers, but they could be decorated a little fancier if desired. Do be careful if small children are present since the backs of the pierced ornaments have sharp edges.
