Many people use the plastic net bath “pouf” which became so popular several years back. But what do you do with them when they get old or fall apart? I suppose there are some people who can get them back into their original form, but I suspect that most of us simply toss them. When this happened last time, I put the resulting long tube of net into a laundry bag, ran it through the laundry, and let it air-dry. Then I cut long strips of it lengthwise and crocheted this kitchen scrubbie. Very nice kitchen scrubbies can be made from strips of netting purchased from the fabric store. The stiffer the netting, the scratchier the scrubbie will be. The scrubbies made from a bath pouf are much softer and are suited for cleaning surfaces which you do not want to be scratched. Whenever it gets dirty, simply add it to the load of dishes in the dishwasher and let it go through the wash!
